本日アメリカから届いたハードカバーの書籍。1944年から1966年までにかけてのアメリカのレコード業界 (特にインディペンデントレーベルの勃興) について、数え切れないほどの関係者へのインタビューに裏打ちされた情報をもとに、様々な側面から丹念にアプローチした本です。全640ページ。斜め読みしただけでワクワクしてきました。これからじっくり時間をかけて、貴重な情報を掘り起こしていくことにします。特に個人的リサーチ対象である Mercury レーベルの最初期の情報に期待が膨らみます。

This is a hard-cover 640-page book I got from the United States today - a book of “inside the US record business from 1944 to 1966” (especially the countless rise of Independent labels after the WWII) - presented as a rich oral history based on enormous amount of interviews - just by rough-reading some pages I do feel so excited to read more and more. Also, I personally am looking forward to any good new information on Mercury labels, my primary research subject.
