Inside The Groove

Red Prysock's third leader album on Mercury; great honking but less thrilling steady rhythm (than his earlier sessions)

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

This album contains Red Prysock's 1956-1957 sessions. Instead of craziest and super-bad honking of his early 1954-1955 sessions (heard on MG-20088), the rhythm section heard on this album sounds rather steady and less thrilling in my humble ears. However, Red himself honks as always.

A typical Rock 'N Roll album featuring blowin' tenor sax with steady rhythm section, which was maybe common in the late 1950s.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

7 out of 10
