a drilled hole near the top-left corner of the cover.

Inside The Groove

North Carolina's soulful organ player Eddie Baccus' only album, accompanied with Roland Kirk as a guest player.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

According to the liner-notes on the back cover, the pianist Eddie Baccus was discovered by Roland Kirk, started organ lessons, then after graduation he rejoined Kirk. Anyway, it was Roland Kirk who recommended the Smash label's producer to record Eddie Baccus' organ.

His style is something typical - an organ player who mainly played piano. Thus his organ sounds rather fragmentary, like many pianists tend to. However, it's again Roland Kirk who made this album so special - his flute can be heard on B-1, which itself is awesome and supreme.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

7 out of 10
