Comments

Gatefold cover.

with original Mercury PPS inner sleeve.

A spine-chilling great sound!

Inside The Groove

One of the famous trilogy of “10 fronts and 2 backs” by Pete Rugolo.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

This is the second album of his famous trilogy - the first one is PPS-2001 / PPS-6001 (10 Trombones Like 2 Pianos), and the third one is PPS-2023 / PPS-6023 (10 Saxophones And 2 Basses). Although the first album is most famous and popular among all three titles, this second album is so much interesting. As always, Pete Rugolo picked up talented West-Coast studio musicians on the session. A banquet of ten trumpets backed up with two guitars and rock-steady swingy rhythm section - simply great and enjoyable!

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

9 out of 10
