Inside The Groove

Dizzy Gillespie's homage to the Carebbian music (and culture).

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

This is Dizzy Gillespie's 1st LP left on Limelight label. He already recorded a sort of albums on U.S. Philips label (a subsidiary of Mercury), then when Limelight label was started, he moved from U.S. Philips to Limelight.

Dizzy Gillespie and his regular band members here plays so nice - a fine Jazz with a bit flavour of Caribbean music. Such rhythmic number like A-2, B-1 and B-2 may make us want to dance. If only this album had more total concepts, totality and energy... Not his highest-ranked album, but still a good LP.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

7 out of 10
