Comments

3 LP box set, with Norman Granz' liner-notes printed inside the box.

This Vol.15 might be the last volume which was released from Mercury label. I've never seen the Vol.16 box with “Mercury Records” printed both on the cover and the label. BTW I once had another copy of Vol.15, whose jacket said “Clef Records” while the label said “Mercury Records”. That was probably manufactured and released in the transition era from Mercury to Clef.

Inside The Groove

Gorgeous 3LP box set, featuring Sep. 13, 1952 JATP concert at the Carnegie Hall.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

This session, recorded on September 13, 1952 at Carnegie Hall, features three different groups. Oscar Peterson trio, Gene Krupa trio, and the all stars. Like other JATP titles, this album also blows and aggrassive. Really enjoyable to appreciate what the JATP concert was like.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

8 out of 10
