MG VOL.6: Jazz At The Philharmonic Volume 6
Comments“MG-35007” printed on the back cover, but the label is “MG.VOL.6”. Matrix stamp of 35007 is deleted and VOL-6 is additionally inscribed. These may suggest MG VOL.6 is the 2nd issue of MG-35007. Inside The GrooveA coupling of two different JATP live recordings, one from April 22, the other from May 27, both in 1946. Personal Impression (and brief notes)Side-A features blues jam session entitled “JATP Blues”. This is a very first tune recorded in April 22 session. On this date, Lester digs rather better (in his post-war era), but Charlie Parker doesn't deserve his best. Side-B is from a different date, May 27. Coleman Hawkins is definitely the star of this tune. Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)8 out of 10 Track Listing
