Comments

Later reissued as Mercury MG-20557 (mono) and Mercury SR-60126 (stereo).

Inside The Groove

Another typical West-Coast Jazz ensemble, featuring Red Norvo on vibes.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Harry Babasin and the Jazz Pickers left two LPs on EmArcy (later he recorded another LP on Mode label). All of them features West-Coast style ensemble in fully relaxed mood. On this album, Red Norvo's swingy vibraphone is fully featured throughout all tracks. On the other hand, the whole ensemble sounds like Jazz version of Chamber Music, which sometimes lacks thrilling moments.

Also, if only the sound reproduction quality was much better - I'd like to listen to the stereo edition.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

6 out of 10
