Comments

Equivalent release: Mercury SR-90303 (stereo).

promotional copy (for broadcast) with white Mercury label.

with original Mercury inner sleeve.

RFR pressing: this earliet RFR-1 mono plays great - I'd like to listen to the stereo copy too.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

The Maestro Janos Starker's first appearance on Mercury label was MG-10146, MG-80004 and MG-50094 (KODALY: Quartet No.1, Op.2) recorded in 1953.

And this LP was Janos Starker's earliest sessions after he signed to Mercury label in 1962. The accompanied orchestra, the legendary London Symphony, was conducted by Antal Dorati. The Maestro Starker's brilliant solo parts as well as hard-driving Dorati's conduct show a marvellous blend of fine musical talents.

Definitely the superb performance.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

10 out of 10
