PHS 600-048: Dizzy At The French Riviera / Dizzy Gillespie
Commentswith original Philips inner sleeve. Inside The GrooveA great renditions of Bossa-Nova influenced Jazz performances. Personal Impression (and brief notes)This album should be specially noted just because the great performance of A-1 “Chega de Saudage”, superb Jazz version of A.C. Jobim's famous number. From the very start of the sounds of waves and chidren's voices (dubbed in) then the group gradually fills in - thrilling movements from start to end. An enchanting album indeed. By the way, unlike the album title suggests, most performances are likely studio recordings. Dizzy's Philips era is much underappreciated, but most of them are superb indeed. A really enjoyable performance. Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)9 out of 10 Track Listing
