Comments

with original Philips inner sleeve.

Inside The Groove

A very swingy big-band live recording.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Although the jacket cover is not attractive, the contents are very cool. Woody Herman, the leader of the band, as well as every band player, swings very well. And it's a live recording - A fascinating, wild, swingy moments are there.

A lazy feeling on “Things We Said Today”, a very modal and awesome ensemble and solo plays on “Dear John C” (patterned after Miles Davis' “So What”), and many others... All of the tunes are great.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

9 out of 10
