Comments

Monaural release is MG-20212, but the contents are slightly different.

with original Mercury inner sleeve.

Inside The Groove

A popular circus music played by a nice brass band.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Aside from the music on this disc itself, this is maybe one of the earliest stereo recordings in conventional Mercury series release, judging from its release number (MG-20212 for monaural).

Or is it from another recording session on entirely different date? If anyone have such recording date information, please let me know.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

5 out of 10

Personnel

Personnel/recorded date/master numbers confirmed with the Ruppli's discography.
(“The Mercury Labels - A Discography” by Ruppli and Novitsky, Greenwood Press, 1993)

This SR-60048 sessions are NOT included on the Ruppli's discography, while mono version MG-20212 (with different takes?) is included. Since I don't have MG-20212 copies, I can't compare listening between stereo and mono versions. This is one of my TODOs.

Carl Stevens and his Circus Band.

Recorded maybe in 1956-1957? (needs information).
