Comments

Equivalent release: Mercury MG-50157 (mono).

Great sound indeed, although this copy is not FR1/FR1 pressings.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

One of the most famous Mercury Living Presence LPs sitting on the TAS list. Both sides (“Love For Three Oranges Suite” on Side-A, “Scythian Suite” on the flip side) are superb-sounding brilliant suites by a gigantic orchestra including many percussions, horns and woodwinds.

Spine-chilling orchestrations with savage orchestral climaxes - this album is so invaluable, both as a stereophonic demostration disc and as an extraordinary example of Prokofiev's enormous efforts to write dynamic compositions.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

9 out of 10
