SR-90043: Music Of LEROY ANDERSON, Vol.2 / Eastman-Rochester “Pops”, Fennel
CommentsEquivalent release: Mercury MG-50043 (mono). FR pressings: probably one of the nice-sounding LPs in Mercury's very early stereo era. Personal Impression (and brief notes)A great kind of “light classical music” - although all tracks are not serious kinds, they really entertains us much. All tracks are really catchy and at the same time worth listening to. one of the most interesting track is B-1 “The Typewriter” - the conductor Frederick Fennell himself “addressed both hands to the keyboard, bobbing head to the orchestra, and his subconscious to the score, which he had memorized-with special attention to his solo passages” (quoted from original liner-notes). Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)9 out of 10 Track Listing
