Comments

Equivalent release: Mercury MG-50137 (mono).

FR pressing: But sound quality is rather inferior. I don't know why (this recording was made in cooperation with Pye, and C.R. Fine was credited as “technical consultant” - not as “technical supervisor” - on the back cover) - anyway even the golden team of W. Cozart, H. Lawrence, C.R. Fine sometimes happened to cut such recordings...

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

All of the tracks on this album are very popular ones - Gayne Ballet Suite (バレエ音楽「ガイーヌ」組曲 in Japanese) - A Night On Bald Mountain (はげ山の一夜 in Japanese) - Prince Igor Overture (歌劇「イーゴリ王」序曲 in Japanese) - On The Steppes Of Central Asia (中央アジアの草原にて in Japanese) - Flight Of The Bumble-Bee (熊ん蜂の飛行 in Japanese).

Except rather inferior sound quality (than other avarage Mercury Living Presence recordings), the music itself really entertain us much.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

6 out of 10
