This vinyl is one of the presents from Görgen Antonsson-san. Thank you so much :)

Inside The Groove

A nice solo album by a great Rock guitarlist with a rich musical background.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Domenic Troiano is famous as a guitarlist of a group James Gang. After a original guitarlist Joe Walsh left the band, Troiano joined James Gang and made two albums as a member. When Troiano left the James Gang band, the next guitalist Tommy Bolin joined.

This solo album was recorded in 1972, when Troiano still was a member of James Gang band. Unlike the James Gang recordings, this album are full of relaxed, low-down, down-to-earth and good soul. The rhythm section play so sharp and heavy, while Troiano cuts heavy guitar riffs and astonishing solo.

Such kind of music is called “Swamp Rock” especially in Japan, but instead of such typical categolization, his sound has very colourful musical background. Very fine.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

9 out of 10
