with original Philips inner sleeve.
Although the jacket cover and the label says Monaural, the disc actually is a stereo copy. According to the matrix stamp on the dead wax (which says 2/600217), it is possible that both mono/stereo releases used the same stamper.
Great Pop album - teenage singer Brian Hyland's nice comeback with the help of Snuff Garrett.
“Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” was a huge hit in the summer of 1960 (when Brian Hyland was only 16 years old). He also had several more hits in the early 1960s, but the British Invasion wiped out most Teeny-Pop singers including Hyland.
Then in 1966, Brian Hyland came back to the scene with a new style. Snuff Garrett was a famous producer of Bobby Vee, Johnny Burnette, Gene McDaniels, and (of course) Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Garrett, with the help of an arranger Leon Russell (who, of course, later became an established Rock musician), dramatically changed the public image of Brian Hyland with fascinating Pop tunes. The title tracks, “The Joker Went Wild” and “Run, Run, Look And See” are straightahead Pop tunes with melancholic melodies and rhythmic construction.
