Inside The Groove
Quincy Jones' compiation from various sessions thru 1959 - 1965.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
This LP holds variety of Quincy Jones Orchestra's tracks from 1959 thru 1965. Some are great jazzy big-band, while some sounds like space-age instrumental pop music.
The earliest tracks (A-3, A-4, B-3) are outtakes from March 1959 session for 45rpms. The personnel (and the music) resembles to his 1st leader LP on Mercury MG-20444 / SR-60129.
B-4 is an outtake from February 1961 session for Mercury PPS-2014 / PPS-6014.
B-5 is an outtake from June 1962 session which resembles to his famous Bossa Nova LP MG-20751 / SR-60751.
The rest are 1964-1965 session when Quincy Jones' music was beginning to change into a brand new breed...
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
6 out of 10
