SR-80022: A Double Shot Of Joe Saye / Joe Saye

[Front Cover] Label Type : blue Mercury/EmArcy type D
Matrix Number : SIDE-A SR 80022-A3    FF
SIDE-B SR 80022-B3    FF

Comments

Equivalent release: EmArcy MG-36147 (mono).

Later reissued as Mercury MG-20534 (mono) and Mercury SR-60211 (stereo).

with original Mercury inner sleeve.

Since the label has smaller oval logo (than other EmArcy Stereo titles have) as well as the matrix information is all handwritten type, this copy may not be the very early pressing, I guess.

Inside The Groove

“Unique, Jazz-Flavored Piano Stylings”, as the sub-title says.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Similar to his previous albums MG-36072 and MG-36112 , Joe Saye's quintet (featuring a flute and a guitar) plays all tunes in very relaxed mood. It may be very “Scotch-flavoured” to call Jazz, anyway it's rather fine and listenable.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

6 out of 10
