Comments
Equivalent release: Mercury MG-50104 (mono).
Although this LP is FR1 pressing on both sides, the sound itself is not sharp and crisp as I expected. This might be either of A4/A2 stampers, or inferior recording session, but I don't know for sure. At least, mono edition (MG-50104) sounds very great.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
An enjoyable, thrilling and powerful symphony by George Whitefield Chadwick, an American symphonic composer, although many people says eclectic European influences are obvious. However, as the liner-note says, this symphony is a good one of the synthesis of “Boston Classicism” and out-and-out “Americanism”. I like this LP.
