東京に出てくる前は，毎春毎食飽きる程食べまくっていたつくし．こちらでは近所では見付かりません (そらそうか)．写真は 1999年 4月上旬の，職場の行き帰りに毎日寄っては採っていた，琵琶湖々畔某所の穴場．

昨日川崎市に用事があって車で向かう途中，多摩川のほとりで久々につくしを拝みました．が，すでに開きまくっていて終わりかけという感じでした (写真は同じく 1999年の滋賀県大津市某所のものです)．

関東一円でつくしがいっぱい生えてるエリアの情報がありましたら，是非お寄せ下さい．どうぞよろしくおねがいします... 結 構 セ ツ ジ ツ．

1969年からの東芝音楽工業時代，1970年代中盤の東芝 EMI 時代，今でも人気の高い 1977年〜1983年のキングレコード時代，コンスタントに復刻が繰り返された 1983年以降の東芝 EMI 時代．幾度となくプレスされ続けられて来た Blue Note 日本盤 LP ですが，1999年を最後に暫く御無沙汰していました．

Toshiba Musical Instruments era from 1969 and on, Toshiba EMI era circa middle 1970s, sought-after King era from 1977 thru 1983, so many releases by Toshiba EMI from 1983... Japanese pressings of Blue Note LPs had been reissued so many times ever since, but there was no new LP releases since 1999 until now.

以前ここで紹介した当時のカタログ 以後，時期の異なるカタログをその他何種類か入手しましたが，今回は当時の雑誌を買ってみました． アメリカのジャズ雑誌としては最も有名な部類に入る， Down Beat の 1956年 1月25日号．

Since I acquired the Mercury catalogue pamphlet I introduced at this site a while ago, I bought several other Mercury pamphlets. And this time, I have bought one of the most famous Jazz magazines Down Beat magazine of Jan. 25, 1956 issue.

まずこの号を入手してみようと思ったのは，EmArcy 特集が掲載されているから．Nat Hentoff の記事と共に，EmArcy 初代プロデューサの Bob Shad 自身の寄稿が読めます．当時の雑誌ということもあって，EmArcy スタート直後の勢いがリアルに感じられます．また，今となっては歴史的に貴重な情報もいくつか読み解く事ができます (例えば EmArcy レーベルの最初のリリースが 1954年10月であった事実など)．その他，かの有名な Down Beat Jazz Reviews など，読み解きどころ満載で楽しめます．

The reason why I wished to obtain this issue was, that the Jan. 25 1956 issue had a special feature articles dedicated to the EmArcy label. An excllent article by Nat Hentoff, as well as EmArcy's producer Bob Shad's own writes are on the special issue. We can read and feel the atmosphere of that time when EmArcy was going to emerge and expand. Furthermore, some historically important facts can be found on these articles (such that EmArcy's very first release was made in Oct. 1954). Of course there are so many other interesting articles and ads on this issue.

ぐう，別件で google で検索していた時に，このページにあたってもうた...

大学院生の頃，確か 1995年 6月頃だったと思いますが，後輩と一緒にこんなアホなことをやりました． 未だに web ページを残して下さっている (消し忘れ?) 増澤さん (増澤先生)，本当にありがとうございます (というべきなのかなんとやら)．

あの食後の不快感は，今考えると明らかに脱水症状だったのだと思われます．けどまたトライしてみたいな．

かつては毎日の様にやっていた，甘いもののドカ食い，そういえばここ暫くやってません．リハビリを兼ねてアルファベットチョコレート一袋イッキ食いでもしてみようと思います．

というか 9年前はこんなに痩せてたのねワタシ (大学入学当時はもっとガリガリでしたが)．とほほ．

この季節 (2月下旬〜3月中旬)，私の実家の神戸市垂水区では玉筋魚 (いかなご) 一色になります． ちょうど 手頃なサイト があったので説明は控えますが，まあ町中こんな雰囲気になり，どの家からも釘煮の醤油の香りがしています．

Late February thru middle March is a special period every year in Tarumi, Kobe (my hometown) - so many boxes of Ikanago (Japanese sand lance, a small and slender fish) are sold here and there. Since most people living in Tarumi eat Ikanago boiled with soy sauce, every residental area in Tarumi smells boiled soy sause in this season. You can see several photos of raw Ikanago in the boxes as well as boiled Ikanago at this site (in Japanese).

というか，このページの一番下に載っている「いかなご Go! Go!」という曲 (mp3 が置いてあります)，知りませんでした... 毎年 30kg 以上炊いている私の母も耳にしたことがないとのこと．しかしこれは爆笑ものです．ちょっと腹が痛くなってきた．

BTW I didn't know the campaign song “Ikanago Go! Go!” (mp3 file can be found at the above site). My mother, who boils over 30kgs of Ikanago every year, even didn't know that song she said on the phone. Anyway this song is really funny... I laughed at the song too much.

I've been thinking of such a silly question, just because I found myself with some whity nosehairs... Why my nosehairs became white first, while my hairs didn't? Or my mustaches, beards and whiskers didn't? (I don't grow 'em though)

今日は朝9時から数ヶ月振りのテニス． 小金井公園 にて． 平日早朝なので，キャンセル待ちを取るのは比較的楽です．もちろん，相手の確保が一番の問題ですが...

I didn't know until today, that the Koganei park is just 7km west from my house and very easy to go, since there is no need to get irritated with never-opening railroad crossings or something. If I try to go to the Nogawa park, where I was usually going to play tennis, it was rather a hard job. Anyway, I will use Koganei park's tennis court after this :)

この小金井公園，うちからはほぼ西に一直線に 7km 程行くだけなので，(大渋滞の踏切や高架下を通過しないと行けない野川公園に比べると) ずいぶん気楽に行けることに気付きました．なんや，今度から予約はここにしよう．

As for the tennis itself, it was really dreadful - maybe because it's been several months since both Atarashi-kun and I played tennis last. But it was a good exercise for me indeed. I'll play early morning tennis on next Friday with him.

テニスそのものは，私も新も久方振りということでぼろぼろでしたが，まあいい運動にはなりました．来週金曜日もやる予定．

This couple of doves comes to the porch of my apartment every day and looks at me asking for some foods. It seems they are looking at how and what I am working at home. It's so interesting and fun for me to observe their mode of life everyday. Even when they are picking at foods I gave 'em, their relationship and balance of power is obvious and looks so interesting.

毎日の様にうちのベランダに訪れては私の仕事部屋を覗いてこちらの様子を伺っているらしいこの鳩の夫婦．生態観察をしていると結構面白いです．しっかり役割分担をしていて，一羽が人間の気配をもろともせず餌をねだる，もう一羽はその様子を見ていて私が餌をあげると安心して寄ってくる．餌をついばむ時も，明らかに両者の力関係がみてとれて，全く飽きません．

Recently they always leave their droppings at the porch, and I'll have to think how to avoid their dirty things. BTW a few days ago I saw for the first time their dropping which was just coming out with steam... Doh!

さすがに最近はベランダのてすりの下に糞をしまくる様になったので，どうしたものか考え中ですが．そういえばこの前，排泄直後の湯気が出ている鳩の糞を初めて目撃しました...
