Inside The Groove

The 2nd album by Louis Jordan - this time with small combo.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Ah, Louis Jordan! One of the greatest originators of black music. He has been a hero of Jump music, and actually his left a gem of greatest black music full of energy.

This album, recorded in 1957, is his 2nd LP on Mercury label (his 1st LP is MG-20242). Unlike exploding big combo sounds full of his original jump music, this album features small combo with organ. The totality and the energy is less obvious than his first LP, but still great jump music.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

8 out of 10
