Inside The Groove
A fine blend of Honky Tonk piano with Dixieland style ensemble.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Although the title says “Honky Tonk Piano”, it's a kind of Dixieland style ensemble. Lou Stein's honking upright piano jumps so well, while a great George Barnes' nice ringing of guitar and banjo are fine.
The arrangements in all tunes tend to be in a monotone, so some may feel a little boring. I like this ensemble though.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
6 out of 10
