Inside The Groove
Eddie Chamblee's second leader album backed up with talented artists.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Compared with his first album (EmArcy MG-36124, soon reissued as Mercury MG-20558 / SR-60127 his blowing and honking on this LP is very powerful. Also, overall atmosphere is very relaxed and swingy. Although this is not a straightahead hardbop album but a R&B-ish album, it's also enjoyable.
By the way, the track B-5 was recorded in the Dinah Washington's leader session (which can be heard on MG-36130. As you may know, Eddie and Dinah was spending a married life in this period.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
7 out of 10
