Inside The Groove

Lazy, swingy and moody big ensemble led by Chet Baker, remembering a great jazz singer Billie Holiday.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Chet Baker of his 1960s - often neglected and low-rated, maybe because his 1950s recordings are mostly greatest. However, this big ensemble album may be one of the greatest in his seldom-recorded 1960s.

Lazy feeling of Chet Baker's own voice, his moody trumpet, and good-old arrangements by Jimmy Munday sound chemical.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

8 out of 10
