Comments
Unfortunately an unremovable sticker on Side-A of the label.
The disc plays a little scratchy, but the sound fidelity itself is nice.
Inside The Groove
A mellow side of the Buddy Morrow orchestra.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Buddy Morrow's orchestra is known as its distinctive, swingy, exciting and danceable sound. But Buddy also has another style in a mellow tone. This album contains such melodious and sweet tracks. Still, it's a great sound - sounds like nobody else (although he was influenced much by the Dorseys' sound).
And, again, Scott LaFaro was in the Morrow band at the time, 1956. According to the writings by Charles A. Ralston, the authors of a great site dedicated to Scott LaFaro, he concludes that it is highly probable the Scott LaFaro was in the studio during the recording of this album. You can read his discussion on his site.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
7 out of 10
