Melted tiBooks

you can do this by disabling pmud. but closing does not mean crashing (see previous postings).
you should NOT do this! you can find pictures with melted tibooks in the web - not very nice. the problem is the videocard might get too, not the processor. therefore it might happen to your ibook, too.

とのことですが，勿論この方は OS X を使われていてこうなりはったんですよね....

元の debian-powerpc ML での話は要するに，最近の iBook や PBG4 に搭載されている Mobility Radeon (M7) が，現在の benh kernel でも sleep に対応していない (技術情報が公開されていないから今のところどうしようもない)．その為に，pmud を動かしている状態で lid を閉じようものならえらいことになりまっせ，ということです．

pmu 周りのコードが変更された直後の benh kernel で，うちの初代 TiG4 400 でもたまにこれがありました．リッドを閉めてスリープさせていたつもりが，翌日机に戻ってみるとファンががんがん回ったまま freeze している，という奴．

それにしてもこの写真はショッキングです．皆様気を付けましょう (どないやねん)
