Inside The Groove
a very impressive modern Jazz session by Mr. Valve-trombonist.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
This album by Bob Brookmeyer, very famous as a valve-trombone player, includes well organized and arranged, but hot sessions. With full of impressive trombone ensemble, recorded in the east-coast, but the sound presented here is like in a west-coast style: their aim might resemble to that of Art Farmer - Benny Golson Jazztet.
Anyway, the ensemble is very impressive indeed. Backing-up members like Thad Jones, Joe Newman, Hank Jones, Wynton Kelly, Charlie Persip hit hard, while a fine blend of Brookmeyer & Fuller's trombone ensemble is so rich. Definitely my favourite.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
9 out of 10
