Comments

1st issue in the early 1960s (wide “MERCURY hi-fidelity” band on the bottom of the front cover, black/silver Mercury label with small oval logo w/ deep groove).

with original Mercury inner sleeve.

Inside The Groove

One of his popular album, including a composer's first recordings of a famous tune “Misty”.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

His most famous tune “Misty” was originally introduced in the EmArcy album MG-36001 “Contrasts”, released in the middle-1950s. This album, firstly released in the early 1960s, places “Misty” on top, with other recordings from his famous “July 27 1954” lengthy session, also presents one of his finest works.

Other tracks include his early 1946 sessions, 1949 session (originally from 3 Deuces recording), and another famous March 14, 1955 session ( which originally was included on MG-20063 “Solitaire” and MG-20090 “Afternoon Of An Elf” ).

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

6 out of 10
