Comments

See also MG-36143 (a bit late Columbia pressing) for comparison.

Equivalent release: EmArcy SR-80014 (stereo).

Later reissued as Mercury MG-20528 (mono) and Mercury SR-60205 (stereo).

with original EmArcy inner sleeve.

Inside The Groove

Stan Kenton Orchestra's former cheif arranger Pete Rugolo's straight re-creations of swingy big-band sound dedicated to The Boss.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

As seen in the liner note by Stan Kenton himself, Rugolo was a great bandleader and a talented arranger. This album, simply dedicated to Stan Kenton, shows how Rugolo can (re)create awesome arrangements and great sounds, based on Stan Kenton's awesome and progressive ensemble.

Every member presented here also plays so awesome. A great big-band sound indeed.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

9 out of 10
