Comments

Equivalent release: EmArcy SR-80045 (stereo).

Later reissued as Mercury MG-20537 (mono), Mercury SR-60214 (stereo).

Interestingly, this copy comes with “EmArcy drummer logo” label, although the last drummer label appeared on MG-36141 (later titles came with Mercury Oval logo label except this title).

Inside The Groove

EmArcy's last album, featuring theme compositions for TV drama “Richard Diamond”

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

This is the last title among entire EmArcy label's catalogue. Pete Rugolo and his Orchestra, which consists of many talented West-Coast studio musicians (most of whom had relationship with Stan Kenton school, including Rugolo himself of course), always plays superb-sounding big band music.

This album is a collection of the music for the TV drama “Richard Diamond”. All compositions by Pete Rugolo. Rugolo had done many TV works, and this is one of them.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

8 out of 10
