北歐空想童話ムウミン

とはいっても，昔のムーミンがどんなのだったか，仔細に記憶している訳ではないのですが，原本 (の日本語訳) を文庫本などで読む限りは，新バージョンのアニメの方が，原作の雰囲気により忠実な，ほんわかと心あたたかい北欧の童話らしくて，すぐに夢中になってしまいました．

I don't remember correctly how the older anime was like in detail, but this new anime version seems to be much better, in a sense that the “atmosphere” is faithful to the original picturebook (of course I only read the Japanese-translated version). This new version of Moomin anime is full of North European feelings with heart-warming stories which attracted me so much.

ところで，この新バージョン，全104話なのですが，第78話までとそれ以降では致命的な断絶があります．アニメのタイトルが「楽しいムーミン一家」から「楽しいムーミン一家 冒険日記」に変わることもさることながら，作られ方の緻密さ，各キャラクターの顔のゆらぎ，ストーリーの連続性，テーマ曲，BGM など，クオリティの違いが余りにも歴然としており，当惑するほどです．

BTW this new version of anime has 104 stories in total, but the 79th story and on is (unfortunately) completely different from preceding stories. Even the title itself is different (from “Tanoshii Moomin Ikka” to “Tanoshii Moomin Ikka Bouken Nikki”), but all the rest are also inferior IMHO (how detailed the story is written and played, the difference of each character's face, how every story is meaningfully serialized, the quality of theme music tracks and BGMs etc.) They all proves the total quality of 1st story thru 78th story is far better than 79th story and on, which sometimes makes me embarrassed.

「楽しいムーミン一家」では，ムーミン谷の二年間がゆるやかに描かれており，その中でスノークの空飛ぶ船の話やアリサ (原作にはないキャラ) の魔女修行の話が通底しています．また，二度訪れる冬にもムーミン一家はちゃんと冬眠しています．ところが，二度目の冬眠直前の第78話で，旅に出るスナフキンから愛用のハーモニカを渡してもらったムーミンですが，「冒険日記」にはその続きはありません．突然春がきており，まるで冬がなかったかの様に単発ストーリーが始まってしまいます．

また「冒険日記」の方では，基本的に一話完結で，キャラクターの描画も回によってばらつきまくり．果ては雪の中スキーをしたりクリスマスを祝ったり (第36話と矛盾?) していたり．「冒険日記」には，ナレーションもありませんし，BGM もほとんどすりかえられています．

もともとは第78話で終わるはずだったのに，余りの好評ぶりに急遽続編シリーズが作られたのではないか，と邪推してしまう程のクオリティの差があります．確かに， テレビアニメ放映リスト というサイトで見てみると (「楽しいムーミン一家」，「楽しいムーミン一家 冒険日記」)， スタッフ陣 (特に脚本と絵コンテ) のばらつきは後者の方が激しい様です．
