LS-86044: Soul Espanol / Oscar Peterson
CommentsEquivalent release: Limelight LM-82044 (mono). Inside The GrooveOscar Peterson plays Bossa Novva flavoured Jazz with percussionists. Personal Impression (and brief notes)I like this kind of sound. Peterson plays in a modest touch, just as heard in “Very Tall” (Verve), on most of the tunes. On the rest, he plays very hard and awesome as he's always been. Percussion section such by Henry Gibson (you may know him play with Curtis Mayfield on “Curtis Live!” album). I love soulful conga sounds in A-5 “Carioca” too much. Very soulful (in another meaning), very smooth, very relaxed, but as always, full of Oscar Peterson's colours. Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)8 out of 10 Track Listing
