Inside The Groove
Cannonball's 1957/1958 session with his brother Nat.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
One of Cannonball's albums in his EmArcy-Mercury era. This album was released maybe in 1961, but the session was made three or several years before the release. B-2 is a previously unreleased track from the “Sharpshooters” (MG-36135 / SR-80018 session, while all the other tracks from the “Sophisticated Swing” (MG-36110) sessions.
They are a kind of “outtakes”, but you can still enjoy his smooth and awesome alto play in all tunes.
Another good example of modern Jazz.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
8 out of 10
