Comments

Outtakes from the Feb. 1957 session later included on MG-20616 / SR-60616 entitled “Cannonball Enroute”.

Inside The Groove

Brothers Cannonball's yet another nice session in 1957.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

Cannonball Adderley's EmArcy/Mercury era - unlike the famous Riverside era, his early EmArcy sessions seems to be a bit underrated. However this album, a collection of three or four minutes performances, still sounds what nobody can play but Cannonball. Not a fully swingy kind, but his “mellow” and “perfectly-controlled” performances are all there.

Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)

8 out of 10
