Inside The Groove
Fine songs by a gifted singer and a talented arranger.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
The great R&B singer's nice album. Backed up with Quincy Jones' Orchestra, Benton sings so mellow and smooth. Very swingy vocal and sounds. Awesome.
He is rather famous with his writings of songs, many of which sung by popular singers and became hits, but this album only conveys Benton's standard songs singing. He's not a "Jazz" singer, but his deep understandings of each song won't be inferior to "standard" singers. I love this album too much.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
10 out of 10
