A great duet album by Mercury label's top-sellers at that time.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Dinah Washington is, without any doubts, THE QUEEN. She could sing any styles of music (popular, blues, jazz, etc.) in her own awesome way. On the other hand, Brook Benton, another Mercury hitter, was very popular with great his-own-written singles like “It's Just A Matter Of Time”, “So Close”, “Kiddio” and many others. His mellow but deep voicing was also his trademark.
On this album, Dinah sings four, Benton sings another four, and the rest of four songs are performed duet by Dinah and Brook. Actually, Dinah sings better than Brook does IMHO, as heard on awesome ballad singing of “There Goes My Heart” or “Love Walked In”. But Brook's singings are also very impressive and great of course.
A truly memorable great duet album.
