Inside The Groove
A collection of Ralph Marterie's early hit singles on Mercury.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Ralph Marterie and his band left so many fine recordings on Mercury. Among them, their early-middle 1950s recordings are all worth to listen to. A very fine, swingy, and danceable big-band music.
I love B-1 “After Midnight” best on this album - you may remember the legendary “Swing Time” compilation video casette series, which contains a very swingy big-band sound as well as honking baritone sax performance of “After Midnight”, by the Marterie orchestra.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
8 out of 10
