Inside The Groove
Another collection of Flip Phillips' JATP-era recordings produced by Norman Granz.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
This is Flip Phillips' third album on Mercury/Clef label (his first album was MG-25023 which was soon after reissued as MG C-105, and the second was MG C-109). Like the second album, this 10-inch LP is also a collection of his past 78rpm/45rpm releases.
Both sides contains a collection of his 1949-1951 single releases, varying from quartet form to septet form.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
8 out of 10
