Red Prysock Discography on Mercury

[Portrait of Red Prysock]

Red Prysock, who took part in such famous bands as Cootie Williams, Tiny Grimes and Tiny Bradshaw, made his own solo debut in the 1950s. His honking and growling tenor sax is super-bad and awesome - as we could hear on his play in above bands. Mercury recordings of Red Prysock also holds most of his cream of his super-bad honking sax.

The greatest sessions would be: MG-20088 “Rock 'N Roll”, a compilation LP (also his first LP) from his 1954-1955 singles. Also, MG-20434 / SR-60106 “Battle Royal!“, tenor sax battle LP with Sil Austin is inevitable. On both LPs we can enjoy surging and rushing tenor sax by Red Prysock.

Interestingly, there are a kind of moody tunes with strings in his later years - which reminds us of Sil Austin's moody music. Except such a few recordings, most of Red Prysock's Mercury era is full of powerful R&B instrumental tunes which we must get excited.

The period Red Prysock recorded on Mercury: 1954 - 1961.

George Laguna (conga), Bill Rodriguez (bongo).
The Ruppli book only mentions “Red Prysock (ts) + ?”,
but the liner-notes on the back cover tells us the actual members at the session as shown above.
Furthermore, the liner note also has mistakes - James Powell is credited as trombone player, while he is alto sax player;
Willam Wells as saxophonist, but maybe is a trombone player better known as Dickie Wells.
Many thanks to Masayuki Hatta-san for helping me identify the members!

The Ruppli book mentions this session as:
Red Prysock (ts), Clarence Eugene “Zack” Wright (bs), Howard Whaley (org), Eddie McFadden (g), Phillip Paul (ds).
However, it is obvious that such instrument as organ cannot be heard on this disc!
I don't understand why Mr. Ruppli made such a mistake -
are there any other Red Prysock sessions with Howard Whaley on organ?
