Mercury Label Variations

Mercury Promotional Label Variations

There are several variations of label design for special “Promotional” use. The most famous ones are white label with black printing, but there are some exceptions like green/yellow labels.

Yellow Mercury (Especially prepared for the VM Corporation)
Design and layout are the same as Black Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured in yellow. You may notice “Especially prepared for the VM Corporation by Mercury Record Corp.” printed at the bottom of the label.

White Mercury (For Broadcast Only, Monaural)	White Mercury (For Broadcast Only, Stereo)
This type are white in background, printing all in black. You may notice the “FOR BROADCAST ONLY * NOT FOR SALE” at the bottom.	This is a STEREO variation of white promotional label. The design is exactly the same except the “STEREO” indication.

Green Mercury Promotional (For Broadcast Only)	Yellow Mercury Promotional (For Broadcast Only)
Design and layout are the same as Red Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured green. You may notice the “FOR BROADCAST ONLY * NOT FOR SALE” below Mercury logo at the upper left.	Design and layout are the same as Red Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured yellow. You may notice the “FOR BROADCAST ONLY * NOT FOR SALE” at the bottom.

Pink Mercury Promotional (For Broadcast Only)	Gold Mercury Promotional (For Broadcast Only)
Design and layout are the same as Red Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured pink. Unfortunately this platter's label has writing (with oil-based ink) to delete the “FOR BROADCAST ONLY * NOT FOR SALE” at the bottom.	Design and layout are the same as Red Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured gold. You may notice the “FOR BROADCAST ONLY * NOT FOR SALE” at the bottom.

White Mercury Promotional (Promotional Copy)
Design and layout are the same as Red Mercury type A, but the label itself is coloured white. You may notice the “PROMOTIONAL COPY * NOT FOR SALE” below Mercury logo at the upper left.
