Comments
with original Mercury inner sleeve.
This LP is the first Mercury album I ever bought :)
Inside The Groove
The Jazztet's 2nd album on Mercury.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
All tunes are full of so-called "Golson Harmonies", but listen to the exotic flavours added by Grachan Moncur III (just after this recording, he joined legendary Jackie McLean's band featuring such as Bobby Hutcherson and young genius Tony Williams). His trombone, or the deed that he was just there, surely contributes the wide range of sound colours.
I like the sound too much. It's more than a "Jazztet" album.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
9 out of 10
