Inside The Groove
Gibbs' best regards to the great Duke Ellington and his music.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Terry Gibbs quartet. The most unique point of the quartet is accordion in place of piano. As a result, both melody/chord instruments, vibraphone and accordigon here, sounds very neat. The arrangement throughout this album is also neat.
But please don't misunderstand this album as a “easy-listening” kind. The band really swings. Leroy Vinegar's walking bass surely contributes nice swingings.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
7 out of 10
