Inside The Groove
Relaxed but confortable tension of Terry Gibbs' “velvet” vibes - a sequel to MG-36064 “Vibes On Velvet”.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
Take a look at this jacket design! Very funny, comical but nice funky-pretty sense!
Talking about the music itself, Terry plays very smooth, relaxed and confortable vibraphone sound with well-swingy brass section (well arranged by Pete Rugolo). One of the altosaxphonist Joe Maini's alto play is also awesome. It may not have less “Jazz” feelings, but I like this nice “West-Coast” taste sound.
Sound quality and pressing quality is awesome (FR pressing).
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
9 out of 10
