Inside The Groove
Dinah Washington's one of the last Mercury sessions,
featuring a famous vocal group The Dells.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
This album is a compilation from Dinah's last years on Mercury,
from late 1961 sessions. The companion album from similar sessions
is MG-20729 / SR-60729 “I Wanna Be Loved”.
This album is a bit famous since The Dells participated to the sessions:
actually B-4 features the Dells without Dinah's own voice.
Although such popular arrangements doesn't seem to lead successes,
Dinah's own singing are always great. She really try to interpretate each
songs, invest her feelings into each lyrics.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
7 out of 10
