A great jam session by EmArcy all stars, planned by Bob Shad, maybe under heavy influences on Norman Granz's JATP jam session. A companion release was MG-36002 (Jam Session), which was from the same jam session.

Personal Impression (and brief notes)

August 14, 1954 jam session had left a fruitful result - and this MG-36000 concentrates on Dinah-featured tunes, while MG-36002 mostly features instrumental jam tracks.

What a great singing by Dinah Washington - she had sung so many blues-oriented tunes in her early era, but this album definitely proves she is also one of the greatest female jazz singer. Gorgeous members such as Clifford Brown, Clark Terry, Maynard Ferguson, Herb Geller have plenty amount of solo performances which are also supreme.
