Inside The Groove
The Queen Dinah Washington's another great jazzy album.
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
This 12-inch LP features Dinah Washington's moody jazz sides. Unlike her 1st 12-inch EmArcy LP which was an awesome jam session, this session was moderately arranged (by Quincy Jones), but at the same time backing musicians have a good amount of solo space.
Among all musicians on this session, The Vice Pres Paul Quinichette might be the best - his tenor solos are so melodious and so moody, which makes Dinah's singing stand out much. Another key-player might be the great guitarist Barry Galbraith who plays supreme solo on this album.
Another great album by Dinah Washington indeed.
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
10 out of 10
