MG-25015: Count Basie and his Kansas City Seven
CommentsSticker on the back side of the cover. True 1st issue in the late-1940s thru early-1950s: the label has “Reeves-Fairchild Margin Control”, and the jacket is paper sleeve type. Inside The GrooveA nice coupling of Count Basie's Kansas City session, as well as Lester Young's 1943 quartet session, both from original Keynote recordings. Personal Impression (and brief notes)Side-A: Kansas City 7's nice 1944 session (from original Keynote recording), featuring Lester Young. Side-B: a legendary 1943 recordings by Lester Young (also from original Keynote recording). Relaxed, heart-warming, great tenor play are there. Maybe no more words are needed to describe these great tunes. A great pre-modern mainstream jazz compilation. Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)9 out of 10 Track Listing
