Jan. 25, 2005: replaced with earlier copy (my previous copy had MF4/MF3 matrix, and the label didn't have siver ring). This newly-acquired copy is in beautiful near-mint condition.
Inside The Groove
...what should I add any more words for this great album?
Personal Impression (and brief notes)
One of the most famous Brown-Roach 5 albums. Or we should say all Brown-Roach albums are exceptionally awesome.
We can't help get knocked out by Brown's brilliant trumpet play, dramatically improvised phrases, Roach's speedy and pushing drums, etc. etc... “awesome” the only word I can say in conclusion.
All tracks except A-3 and B-4 were firstly appeared on 10-inch LP MG-26043, prior to this famous 12-inch LP. Unfortunately, even this early MF2/MF1 disc doesn't deliver good sounds of these tracks (MG-26043 sounds far better than this). On the other hand, A-3 and B-4 sounds very powerful and crisp like MG-26043 has.
Anyway, as many people have said, every note Clifford Brown has left us is precious. All of us should go further - get Complete EmArcy Recordings :)
Strictly Personal Rating (to what extent I could enjoy this album)
