「EP」とは元々45回転シングル盤を拡張（Extended Play）したもので、1949年シングル盤登場の3年後、1952年にRCA Victorによって生み出された新フォーマットです。本稿では、2012年に拙ブログに掲載したEPの歴史をたどる記事ののちに新たに学んだり知ったりしたことを書いています。
